Erik Killmonger, portrayed by Michael B. Jordan in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), is a key antagonist in the film Black Panther (2018). He first appears in the MCU in this film.
Born N'Jadaka, he is the son of Prince N'Jobu, T'Challa's uncle, who was stationed undercover in America. After N'Jobu's death at the hands of T'Chaka, N'Jadaka was orphaned and fueled by a desire to avenge his father and claim the Wakandan throne, believing Wakanda had abandoned him and oppressed people of African descent worldwide.
Killmonger becomes a highly trained and ruthless special operations soldier, adopting the name Erik Stevens before reclaiming his birth name. He challenges T'Challa for the throne in Wakanda, displaying superior combat skills and a deep understanding of Wakandan traditions.
Killmonger's goal is to use Wakanda's advanced technology to empower oppressed people and overthrow established power structures globally. Ultimately, Killmonger is defeated by Black Panther and dies having made his intentions clear.
